In From the Storm zine highlights Black women in comics and sci-fi
The fanzine is for and by Black women featuring original artwork, interviews and cultural criticism. The name pays homage to the most mainstream Black heroine in comics, Storm from the X-Men, but the name is also about finding refuge. As Black womxn fans, we have unique perspectives that are often silenced and discouraged in mainstream outlets. In From the Storm zine is a shelter from the storm; a place for Black womxn to gather and discuss our nerdom.
